I think one of the things I love most about the rain is the day immediately following. You can walk outside and see the sun slowly making an appearance over the horizon. Not too far away the mountains are covered with fresh snow. The snow looks pink, then gold, and finally white. Those days are few and far between around here… already the snow has started to melt… but when they are here I try very hard to take advantage of them. I’m hoping for a lot more rain this winter.

I woke up this morning to hear them say on the news that there were a few showers. I was a little surprised since the weather had been so hot and dry the last few days plus I was hoping to go for a run. Walking out the door I realized it was dry enough to run so I left. As I ran it started … just a little … enough to get me wet and to worry about my iPod and phone getting wet. Not enough, however, for me to turn around. It was short, but sweet and refreshing. The best part about running before the sun comes up is the opportunity to take pictures of the sunrise and this morning’s was a doozy. I don’t often take that opportunity but I was so glad I did. As I drove up to the foothills and turned the corner a fabulous sight greeted me…

Welcome to my new blog! I’m very excited to start something new. I know I already made my “first” post, but this is the official welcome. I want to do something besides just a photo blog… altho there will be plenty of photos, believe me. I don’t have it set up to subscribe by email yet, but that should happen this weekend.
