Summer Flowers

I can’t believe it has been two weeks since my last post. I do have an excuse, however. I have somehow injured my arm, my right arm no less. I’m not sure what it is yet, but I believe it is an overuse injury… too much lifting of the camera. I have seen the doctor and gotten x-rays which have both told me nothing. Very frustrating! In the meantime I have been trying to rest it which means avoiding the camera. This morning I couldn’t stand it anymore. I took it out for a half hour just to take some photos of the flowers in my complex. That was pretty much all I could handle since I wasn’t using a tripod. It felt wonderful to get out and shoot again. I definitely miss it…

My recipe for dealing with anger and frustration: set the kitchen timer for twenty minutes, cry, rant, and rave, and at the sound of the bell, simmer down and go about business as usual.

Healing

Photos No Comments

This week has been a little different. I found out awhile ago that I needed to have some minor surgery. Nothing too complicated or serious – you see, I ended up with a blood clot in my leg that needed to be removed. It sounds awful (and, honestly, it is pretty disgusting), but it was pretty minor. I was in and out of the hospital in one day and as of today am walking around fairly normally. In order to heal the doctor says I need to get up and walk around, but no running. This is good and bad. Bad part is it’s Christmas and there are a lot of cookies calling my name. Good part is I can go on long walks with my camera and know that it is part of the healing process. So the photos I will be posting the next few days will probably be from these walks. This one was from yesterday…

The art of healing comes from nature, not from the physician. Therefore the physician must start from nature, with an open mind.
