I came across a really neat (my daughter is cringing that I am using that word) gallery show in New York. It is called “Incognito: The Hidden Self-Portrait”. The pieces in it are all self-portraits done by modern photographers, but they are not the typical self-portraits in that none of them are obvious. The artists are in the pictures, and yet they are all obscured in some way, either with shadows or reflections or movement… in some cases it is difficult to see that they are, in actuality, pictures of the photographer.
I got very inspired looking at these images and decided to not only do a self-portrait of my own, but to offer up a challenge over at Faded & Blurred. If you are a photographer (even if you aren’t!), head over there and take part in the challenge. You can enter as often as you would like and you get a chance to win Steve McCurry’s book “Portraits”.
