This guy didn’t seem to be too happy about the sharp traps sticking out for him, altho it didn’t stop any of the birds sitting around waiting for fish to be dropped by the local fishermen.

I meant to blog about this a few days ago but never did. I participated in a silent auction at a local gallery last weekend. They handed out cafeteria trays to local artists and asked them to create a piece of artwork to donate for their auction. It was a lot of fun to put something together, but it was even more fun to have my piece sell at the end of the night. To make this an even better week I also sold a photo on Etsy!

I was able to take a road trip up to Pismo Beach a couple of days ago. The Monarch butterflies fly through there every year from the end of October until February and make their home in a grove of trees right off of the beach. It was amazing to look up at the trees and realize that what you are seeing is not seed pods or leaves, but thousands of butterflies.

The butterfly counts not months but moments, and has time enough.
