Fourteen

Fourteen years ago we were going through a heat wave… at least that’s what it felt like to me, being slightly over nine months pregnant. That summer felt like it was going to last forever. It didn’t. To my surprise it went way too quickly. Now fourteen years have sped past and I sit here looking at my beautiful daughter who takes me by surprise every day with how beautiful, how funny, how smart, and how wonderful she is. I am very lucky to have her.

And, in honor of her, a quote from Jane Austen that I think she’ll love:
I do not want people to be agreeable, as it saves me the trouble of liking them.
~ Jane Austen
